Eric Maurer is a member of the firm's litigation practice group. Also an engineer and former Air Force pilot, Eric represents inventors, business owners, and commercial interests in patent, copyright, trademark, and trade secret litigation involving a broad range of technologies and arts. During his more than 20 years in private practice, Eric has litigated intellectual property disputes and related business claims in federal trial courts throughout the United States. Eric also manages multiple trademark portfolios and opposition proceedings before the Patent and Trademark Office.

Eric earned his Bachelor of Science from the U.S. Air Force Academy. Following his active-duty military service as a pilot, Eric served as an engineer with several U.S. federal agencies while earning his Juris Doctor at Georgia State University's College of Law. He also served as an attorney on the staff of the USDOT's regional Office of the Chief Counsel and served as technical and legal advisor to the Atlanta Regional Commission and the newly formed Georgia Regional Transportation Authority.

In his various engineering capacities, Eric has served as guest instructor for the Georgia Institute of Technology and has been a featured speaker for engineering professionals, transportation and environmental specialists, and airport managers. Since entering private practice in 2000, Eric has focused on primarily on protection of intellectual property assets and complex litigation of intellectual property claims.
